Pascal Durand-Barthez

Senior Advisor. A member of the Paris bar from 2007 to 2020, after a career as general counsel at GEC-Alsthom and then Alcatel. Secretary general of France's High Committee on Corporate Governance (Afep-Medef) from 2013 to 2017.

Pascal Durand-Barthez was a member of the Paris bar from 2007 to 2020. After a long career in industry he specialised in questions of governance.

He was general counsel of GEC-Alsthom (now Alstom) from 1988 to 1996, then general counsel and board secretary of Alcatel from 1996 to 2006, before joining the bar as Of Counsel at Linklaters in Paris (2007–2013).

He was secretary general of the Haut Comité de Gouvernement d'Entreprise (Afep-Medef) from 2013 to 2017, and is currently vice-chair of the corporate governance committee of BIAC, the advisory body to the OECD.

He is a graduate of Sciences Po and holds an arts degree and a doctorate in law.

He has published books and articles on international business law and governance, most recently a Guide de la Gouvernance des Sociétés (Dalloz), and teaches at Sciences Po among other institutions.
